A Poem from Janet Cannon's  Poetry Room at IsleWrite.com
Today's Poem

ode to the 60s

loving far from provincialism
wearing paisley and beardsley
prints sewing shirts and skirts with
east indian cotton bedspreads

making candles and macramé
hemp rope plant hangers stringing
beaded door curtains burning inside
ourselves and incense cones

inhaling free thinking experimenting
with time in the absence of clocks
holding love child babies on blankets
in tall grass at endless rock concerts

questioning expectations embracing
everything new flowers everywhere
in our hair and blowing inside the
future of wind with peace on our side
