A Poem from Janet Cannon's  Poetry Room at IsleWrite.com
Today's Poem

new year's day

except for early morning
used confetti settled at
the curbs from last night
and various puddles of city

celebration vomit on the
sidewalks are abandoned
like the day after the end
of the world might look

hanging in the air from the
corner church bell tower
recorded organ music plays
hymns to empty streets
