The Primrose

on the lanai flowers
confidently hugged by
generous basal leaves

deep fleshy green
and gentle thriving on
easy june days with

simple needs watering
and the sun of course
our great yellow-hot

balloon floats constant
and carefree out of reach
but touching offers warm

light nurturing without
asking or hesitation
like a good friend
